This Dirt Road Debutante Gravel Academy is for the intermediate-level gravel cyclist. The skills ride, topics of discussion, bicycle maintenance, and repair sessions will be directed towards racing gravel.

This is a Women's only gravel bicycle clinic. This is not your typical cycling camp. Here, you will have a lot of hands-on classroom time learning techniques, tips, and tricks to become a confident gravel cyclist and racer. The riding will be centered around the skills needed to be comfortable on gravel at speed.

ABOUT:
Experience the sport of gravel racing in an intimate setting, limited to 20 ladies. You will be fully immersed in all things gravel from start to finish. With detailed classroom instruction and hands-on application, you will grow your confidence to navigate the toughest aspects of gravel and build your skills on the roads of Leavenworth, KS, under the guidance of Catherine Walberg - retired pro-mountain biker, Karen Pritchard - 6 x DK 200 Finisher and Age Group Champion, and Tiffany Burris - Head Coach for DarkEarly Racing. This clinic is for ladies interested in racing gravel and improving their skills with like-minded bad-asses. You will leave the clinic understanding what gravel racing is about, a better idea of how to train to cross the finish line with a smile, and how to be prepared for whatever the course has to offer.

LESSONS AND SKILLS:
Dirt Road Debutant Gravel Academy sessions include:

  • Hands-On roadside repair class

  • Skills ride lead by 6 x DK200 finisher and a retired pro-mountain biker. These two ladies know their stuff and have enough combined experience to make your wheels spin

  • How to prepare an event calendar based on your training with USA Cycling certified coach Tiffany Burris

  • An in-depth look at recovery; how and why to take it seriously

  • Pre-Race and Race Day Nutrition and Hydration

The clinic includes outdoor skills rides ranging from 10 - 30 miles and a casual group ride. We will cover technical obstacles commonly found on gravel roads on these rides. There is an optional group ride after the clinic ends Sunday afternoon.
